MESSIER 42-GREAT NEBULA OF ORION
(M 42/NGC 1976, M 43)

My first attempt at LRGB imagery.  Celestron Fastar 8 at f/1.95, PixCel 237.  This LRGB image was assembled from a 120 second (eight by 15 seconds Track and Accumulate) monochromatic file, taken some months earlier, and composite RGB images (each eight by 15 seconds Track and Accumulate). The RGB exposure ratio was 1:1:1.  All images were unguided at -30 degrees Celsius, using the AP900.  Image assembled in Adobe Photoshop.  RGB files registered in CCDOPS v4.0.  North is up.

For comparison, the RGB image without the L channel.
